Hello everyone. So today I would love to share with you our almost complete living room. Since these photos were taken we added another love seat and some more pillows to cover this huge couch. If you are building a home, renovating, or looking to add some extra spice to your living room here are a few tips I would love to share.

1) If you are afraid of colour, do not worry, because I am! I think the safe bet is to stick with your neutrals with your big items like your couches or tables. (Greys, whites, taupes, beige) In saying this, you could always add colour in your photography around the house, or add some bright decorative pillows to your couch.

2) Our home is a mix of rustic and modern. In saying this, I usually like to add some kind of old world touch to a space. Whether it would be stone, brick, distressed wood, or distressed flooring. I believe this adds some character to your space. This is why I chose to do a huge brick fireplace with a distressed wood table. It brings out the old world and rustic touch to my modern home.

3) Add some symmetry. I think if you have the space for it, symmetry looks beautiful. If you have a single love seat sitting in a big space, why not add two? Fill the space you have. Or simply add two lamps with a console behind your couch. This adds a cozy feel to your space! Especially when its dark out and all you have on is your side lamps! It really is a nice touch to a living room.

4) Explore with lighting fixtures. You have a beautiful ceiling, why put a ceiling fan in the most central spot in your home? Add a lighting fixture that will bring out a ‘wow’ factor! It is amazing what lighting fixtures can do to a space, so explore with it and have fun! Thanks for reading everyone, and I’ll be back with some more decor pictures and ideas!
